Mining Equipment Mineral Processing Plant Quartz Sand Spiral Classifier
Spiral classifier is one of the most commonly used mining equipment, which is widely used in mineral processing, construction materials, silicate and chemical industries. In the production of small scale, medium scale or large scale mineral processing plants, it is generally used as the classifying machine or washing machine for metal ores of gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, manganese, iron, molybdenum, chromium, tin and others, as well as limestone, barite, quartz, graphite, feldspar, fluorspar, etc.
Spiral classifier is widely used in mineral processing and forms one closed circulation with grinding equipments. It is applied for the pre-classification, fine-grained mineral mud off, dehydration, washing, grading and so on. It can efficiently control mineral particle size, improve the grinding efficiency and reduce the over-crusher phenomenon.
Working Principle of Spiral Classifier:
The pulp feed is introduced into the inclined trough and forms a settling pool in which particles of high falling velocity quickly fall to the bottom of the trough. The settled particles are conveyed up the inclined trough by mechanical rakes or by a helical screw. The conveying mechanism also serves to keep fine particles in suspension in the pool by gentle agitation and when the particles leave the pool they are slowly turned over by the raking action, thus releasing entrained slimes and water, increasing the efficiency of the separation.
Spiral classifier is by means of solid particles of different sizes, the proportion of different, thus settling velocity in liquids of different principles, fine mineral particles floating in the water to overflow out of coarse mineral particles sink to the bottom.Discharged from the screw into the upper part, to a hierarchical classification of mechanical equipment, can mill to grind the material powder level in the filter, and then use the coarse material helical screw rotary vane into the mill feed, the filter out the fine material is discharged from the overflow pipe. Spiral Classifier works with Ball Mill used for mineral sepation. And Spiral Classifier always used for Sand washing and Clays washing.
Spiral classifier Operating Regulations
1. Before running spiral classifier, please check all parts of the equipment to check whether there is looseness, breakage, and normal voltage or not; And ensure the lubrication is ok, if it is normal, you can start the motor. After the spiral classifier operation is normal, feed the slurry into the tank to start the classification.
2. Before stop the machine, stop feeding, and then turn off the power after the mineral is transported in the tank.
3. When the spiral classifier is running, if an emergency stop is required in case of failure, the lifting mechanism should be started firstly, the spiral blades should be raised above the mineral sediment layer, and then the operation should be stopped. When restart, the screw should be started first. After the screw is stable, start the lifting motor to lower the screw until the lower support comes into contact with the back plate of the water tank. It is strictly forbidden to start the screw blade buried in the mineral sedimentation layer.
The water tank of this machine is installed at an inclined angle. The inclination angle is determined according to the equipment configuration in the process. The transmission device drives the screw to rotate in the tank. The finely ground slurry enters the tank from the side feed inlet and forms a groove at the lower end of the tank. The surface area and volume of the slurry subsidence area are determined by the inclination of the sink and the height of the overflow weir. The low-speed rotating spiral can play a certain stirring effect. After the slurry is stirred, the light and fine particles are suspended on the top to form an overflow, which overflows from the overflow weir at the end of the water tank and flows into the next beneficiation process; the coarse particles sink to the bottom of the tank to form Sand is transported by spiral to the ore discharge outlet.
