Amount of Modifier Used in the High Speed Rotor Calcium Carbonate Coating Machine
When the coating machine works, the utilization rate of modifier is high, and the powder modification effect is very good, but the dosage of the agent is not lower than that of ordinary equipment. There are two main reasons for this seemingly abnormal phenomenon: firstly, the powder and the modifier are fully mixed and modified, so that the possibility of individual powder particles being coated is increased, and the dosage of the agent is increased; secondly, the powder is depolymerized by the high-speed rotor in the main machine, so that some powder agglomeration particles are depolymerized and the particle size becomes finer, thereby increasing the specific surface area of the powder and correspondingly increasing the dosage of the agent.
For different powders, the amount of modifier used in the coating machine is also different, generally 0.3% to 1.0% of the quality of the modified powder. The SLG type modification machine has the functions of modification and depolymerization and dispersion, which reduces the probability of the powder coated particles agglomerated by the agent, improves the coating rate of the individual powder particles, and the modified product can fully reflect the modified filler.

Calcium carbonate is a kind of versatile inorganic filler, because there are many hydroxyl groups on the surface that can easily absorb water and make powder hydrophilic and oleophobic. The interface formed by the matrix is poor in adhesion. In order to make full use of calcium carbonate powder, powder should be made be as small as possible, which has the disadvantages: easy to reunite because of the extra large surface and surface property. After reunion, the powder cannot be used properly. So it is necessary to do calcium carbonate powder surface modification.
